Organizational Announcement

From Joe Harkins, PLI Director

We are pleased to announce that Elaine McCluskey joined the DOE Project Leadership Institute as Deputy Director in March 2022. Prior to joining PLI, Elaine worked as a civil /structural engineer and project manager in the private engineering consulting industry and at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Her primary focus was on development and execution of facilities and infrastructure for high-energy physics, as well as developing project management systems at Fermilab. Her last role at Fermilab was as Project Manager for the LBNF/DUNE-US Project, the ~$3B U.S. DOE component of a global endeavor to enable the world’s leading neutrino experiment in the next decade, the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment. Her experience at Fermilab included work in the facilities, accelerator, and experiment organizations, serving in functional and project management roles.

Elaine holds bachelor’s degrees in physics from Carleton College and civil engineering from Washington University, and a master’s degree in project management from Keller Graduate School/DeVry University. She is a registered Professional Engineer and Structural Engineer in Illinois and a certified Project Management Professional. We are fortunate to have her in our team.
